A Pacific Heights Bed & Breakfast with 150 Years of History
Originally built in 1875 as the Monte Cristo Saloon, our building is widely considered the oldest surviving hospitality structure in San Francisco. The saloon survived the 1906 earthquake and the fires that followed, served as a refuge for newly homeless residents, and operated as a speakeasy through Prohibition. Many of the original architectural details remain — hardwood floors, antique furnishings, Persian rugs, and the bones of a building that has watched San Francisco grow up around it.
